Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Prompt Tabula ("the Platform"), accessible from https://prompttabula.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Prompt Tabula is a web application that allows users to create, store, share, and discover AI prompts, metadata, and associated artifacts (code, images, documents).

3. User Accounts

Registration: To access certain features (saving, commenting, uploading), you must register using an email address or a supported OAuth provider (e.g., Google, GitHub).

Security: You are responsible for safeguarding the credentials used to access the Service. You agree not to disclose your password to any third party.

Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

4. User Content and Licensing

"Content" includes prompts, descriptions, instructions, metadata, comments, and artifacts (files, code, images) you post to the Platform.

4.1 Ownership

You retain your ownership rights to the Content you submit. However, by submitting Content, you grant specific licenses to the Platform and other Users.

4.2 Public Content License (The "Open Prompt" Clause)

If you mark your Content as "Public," you hereby grant:

  • To the Platform: A worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your Content.
  • To Other Users: A perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, and sublicense your Public Content and artifacts for both personal and commercial use.

Note: This allows other users to "fork" your prompts and use the outputs in their own commercial projects without owing you royalties.

4.3 Private Content

If you mark your Content as "Private," the Platform will make reasonable efforts to keep this Content confidential and invisible to other users. You grant the Platform a license strictly limited to the hosting, backups, and storage necessary to provide the Service to you.

4.4 Content Restrictions

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights to post the Content and artifacts.
  • Your Content does not contain malicious code, malware, or illegal material.
  • Your Content does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.

5. Service Limits and Modifications

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time.
  • Impose limits on usage, including but not limited to: the number of prompts you may save, the file size of artifacts, and bandwidth usage. These limits are subject to change without prior notice.
  • Remove Content that violates these Terms or exceeds storage quotas.

6. Paid Features

We may introduce premium features in the future. If you elect to use paid features, you agree to the pricing and payment terms as they will be presented to you at that time. We reserve the right to change our pricing upon notice.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Prompt Tabula and its licensors.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Prompt Tabula, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
